Frage zur Funktionalität von Foren für verschiedene Fediverse-Dienste

@Friendica Support

@Μαθθίας/ξ ✔ ja, gut zu wissen.

2. Was konkret bedeutet Vertrauenslevel in die Spracherkennung? Den erläuternden Text verstehe ich nicht.

@Friendica Support Friendica currently comes with two themes: frio and vier with frio being the default.

The theme selection does not indicate that. What are others thinking? Would it make sense to add a default tag to frio so that fact is communicated to users?

in reply to Wilhelm

@Wilhelm If it was just me, I would do away with vier and the cumbersome theme system, but I know @Tobias is still a fervent vier user.
in reply to Hypolite Petovan

@Tobias Had you tried the new frio v1.0? What were your thoughts?

Clearly themes are a question of personal taste and arguing about them is very difficult. I really don't want to get into an opinion war about personal preferences as that will lead nowhere. But if tobias or other vier users could share, what aspects they prefer about vier over frio, maybe there is something to learn / takeaway / improve about frio.

I want to also add 2 cents about UI changes which affect us all and how many (me included) perceive them: e.g. it's so funny with the changes in macOS. When they first hit you, they sometimes look ridiculous. And next it's fascinating how quickly I get used to altered UI and my brain accepts the change as nice and normal after 14 days of usage and getting used to.

Notifications not visible

@Friendica Support I can't understand one thing: from the main screen of one of my friendica forums I don't see notifications or messages. But the browser tab shows me a number of notifications.
Why is there this difference?

The rendering of a thread jumps to its top whenever I interact with, e.g. like a comment

Hi @Friendica Developers @Friendica Support

Is it a general behavior that when I interact with a post, e.g. to like a reply, the site scrolls up to the root of the thread?
This is very annoying when I want to read through replies and comment / like on my way through. It requires a lot of scrolling through the same content over and over again.

Is this an issue with the code, or does it depend on the used browser?

Does anybody else even has this issue?
You can try here social.bund.de/@bfdi/109477476… and like e.g. my comment friendica.mbbit.de/display/b25…

in reply to Marek Bachmann

@Marek Bachmann :friendica: This usually has to do with the automatic collapse of the post content. When a like or a comment is submitted, the whole thread is asynchronously regenerated, and if the dimensions of the new threads aren't the same as the existing thread, browsers adjust the scrolling according to factors unknown to me.

Hi @Friendica Support,
I have set a background Image in my user settings. I can see this background image as long as I'm logged in with my user (on my personal page and everywhere in the application). Visitors see the default background (nothing) or whatever they have set as background. Is this how the profile settings are meant to work or is this a bug?

My expectation was that I can set a Backgroundimage to configure the appearance of my profile page for visitors.

in reply to Matthias Moritz

most likely the permissions for this image are set to 'me only'. the permissions must be set to 'public'.

@Steffen K9 🐰 @Matthias Moritz
Having a background image on my profile page sounded interesting, so I went to try it out -- but couldn't find the setting anywhere, or mention of it in the Help pages. A Frio-only thing, maybe?
in reply to Matthias Moritz

@Matthias Moritz
Thanks. Oh, well, being a Vier-user has its pros & cons. (Though I did have a quick look in Frio but couldn't find the setting there, either!)
in reply to Steffen K9 🐰

@Steffen K9 🐰
Thanks. That's where I found the setting, and it works.
(Even so, I'll probably revert to Vier after a while, as I prefer it for other reasons.)
